I have worked with a variety of populations which has helped me develop the communication skills for meeting people where they are emotionally and cognitively. I believe strongly in the power of good communication, person centered care and unconditional positive regard and creativity in my practice. I am mainly a Humanistic/Existential therapist and want to bring my clients a step closer to their own personal self-actualization. Our basic needs are more important than ever in these uncertain and unpredictable times and without meeting them, growing and adapting are more difficult. Identity, meaning and purpose are now being examined by literally everyone and questioned, maybe even for the first time. I hope to help my clients examine themselves to help strengthen their sense of meaning and purpose in life.
I am trained as both as a fine artist and Art Therapist but consider myself to be more of an Expressive Therapist. ALL creative activity can be used for self care and self discovery so I try to explore the use of the Arts with every client. Whether it’s painting, musical instruments, writing of every kind, dancing or maybe just watching movies, reading, looking at art or listening to music, we all use the Arts in our lives and can always use more!
