I received an MA in psychology from Pepperdine University. I worked with elementary school children in the Simi Valley School District for two years. When I worked at the Simi Valley School District, I learned how children from age 5 to 12 see the world. I understand what it is like to be a child in a variety of families and circumstances. I also understand that a child’s behavior, good or bad, is a reflection of how they feel about themselves and the world. I have some experience in play therapy and art therapy. In my experience, I have observed that children have an easier time expressing things through art and play. It is also a way they process the world around them. I also have a hearing impairment. I have been unable to hear without hearing aids for my whole life, and I understand what it is like to be born without the ability to hear without hearing aids. I am proficient at American Sign Language, and I can provide counseling to the Deaf as well. I understand the various struggles a Deaf person can go through, and how isolating that experience can be. I have also grown up with a rare medical condition that required a variety of medical interventions. I understand what it is like to have doctors and a variety of medical specialists looking at you, and what it is like to have a rare condition that not many people understand. I believe that no one is truly bad. Each person is trying to do the best they can in the world they are in, and I am here to provide a space to help you change your life to the way you want it to be. I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you, whether you are coming in as an individual, a couple, or a family, can talk about your struggles and triumphs. I want to be your ally in this part of your life’s journey.
